Cyber Security Workshop

Threat hunting, dissection and mitigation is the need of the hour. Blocking incoming threats works to an extent. Dissecting it and fixing the future attacks makes a lot of difference. Women In Engineering 2019 brings to you a workshop on cyber security titled “Being Sherlock Holmes”. We will be covering the following:

  • Spotting/Dissecting Phishing sites that are targeted towards organizations and individuals

  • We will Compromise a Windows computer and see how attackers make use of it to host different attacks

  • Dissect a simple word doc malware and un-earthen a malware campaign

This 3 hours will make one think like Sherlock Holmes, be like sherlock Holmes and solve cyber crimes like Sherlock, all we need is you and your laptop(with some minimum installations).

About the Instructor

Shyam Sundar Ramaswami is a Security Researcher in Cisco Umbrella Research Org. Shyam is a TEDx speaker, Malware reverse engineer , Cisco security ninja black belt and teaches cyber security using his favourite “Batman” character. He runs a “Being Robin” where he mentors students on cyber security all over the world and has 350 plus students in being robin preaching and practising cyber security

Shyam has delivered talks in several leading conferences like Cisco Live (Barcelona), Qubit Cyber Forensics ( Serbia), several Webinars in London and San Francisco. Shyam also a part time professor in Indian Institute of Digital forensics and Technology ( IIDT) Tirupathi.

Shyam works with the Tamil Nadu police and has solved child nabbing cases using his methodology called “Social Media Forensics”
